Purchase Ledger Assistant

Zenith Aviation Limited, a Sunday Times Best Company to work for are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant based at Biggin Hill airport. Full time and part time would be considered.

This is a great opportunity to join our expanding finance team and develop your accounts knowledge. No previous experience necessary as full on the job training will be given but an interest/ qualification in accounts would be an advantage. The role will encompass Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations and Expenses processing.


 Role and Responsibilities:

  • Coding and Posting purchase invoices
  • Checking purchase invoices against agreed supplier pricing schedules
  • Querying purchase invoices where necessary and resolving query to a satisfactory conclusion
  • Being main point of contact for suppliers and accounts departments with regard to invoicing queries etc
  • Payment Runs ensuring suppliers are paid promptly in accordance with agreements
  • Processing Ad-hoc payments if required
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Analysis of Employee Expenses
  • Assist with month-end activities
  • Assist with cover for Finance Assistant
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Petty Cash reconciliation
  • Assisting with full credit card reconciliation.
  • Intercompany reconciliation



  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential
  • IT literate with Microsoft Excel experience and Sage Line 50
  • You will have both excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You will be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines without direct, daily supervision
  • Numerate and take pride in your work
  • Have accurate attention to detail and an ability to prioritise work load
  • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills
  • Effective and positive interaction within a small team environment is essential
  • Salary commensurate to experience
